• The Chairman of Cricket, Mark Simmons, is accountable to the OMG for cricket performance of all squads and leagues under the jurisdiction of the County.

    The Chairman of Cricket will be supported by a Cricket executive including representatives from the key cricket groups.

    The purpose of grouping together all cricket playing teams, squads and leagues is to ensure that we have co-ordinated, integrated player pathways and cricket playing programmes.

    The primary aim is to have a successful and effective County cricket structure - that is underpinned by programmes that coach and develop young cricketers to enjoy their sport - and that enables individual players to play at the highest level they can, including seamless progress to the Minor County squad and beyond.

    The Cricket executive is responsible for the management of :

  • County 1st Team
  • Development Squad / 2nd XI
  • Women and Girls cricket
  • Berkshire Gents
  • Over 50s
  • Over 60s
  • County Youth squads @ U10 to U17
  • Emerging Player programme
  • District squads - Reading, Wokingham, West Berks and East Berks
  • Youth League and County Cup competitions
  • Indoor League
